Mezzo-soprano, Christina Russo

received her Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from Hofstra University, and a Master of Music degree at Binghamton University with a concentration in Opera Performance. Most recently, she made her role and company debut in Alcina, singing Ruggiero with Amadeus Opera. A strong singer-actor, she made her role debut of the title role in Carmen at the Utah Vocal Arts Academy in 2019. Other operatic roles and performances include Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), La Badessa (Suor Angelica) with the International Masters Academy of Opera, Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) with New York Opera Theater, Sandman (Hansel and Gretel) ​with Tri-Cities Opera, Dorabella (​Così fan tutte),​ Second Lady (​Die Zauberflöte),​ La Zelatrice (Suor Angelica​), Nicklausse (​Les Contes d’Hoffmann), La Ciesca (​Gianni Schicchi​), and Dido (​Dido and Aeneas).

Christina has received awards at numerous vocal competitions including the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.

Christina keeps an active voice studio on Long Island.

Her students have had successful auditions for various community and school theater productions, musical theater and classical voice college programs, as well as for NYSSMA, particularly for the New York All-State chorus. She also offers private study in music theory and ear-training for those students preparing for AP and college music program entrance exams.
